Recognizing the importance of research and studies on peatlands to produce knowledge and innovations on sustainable peatland management, Pantau Gambut once again established Phase II of its Research Fellowship Program in 2020.

Pantau Gambut selected 3 participants comprising undergraduate students from all over the country to conduct research and studies related to peatlands. The following is research from the three students in the second batch of Pantau Gambut Research Fellowship scholarship.

 

1. Almi Ramadhi, Faculty of Forestry and Environment, Bogor Agricultural University

Research title:

Impact of Forest and Land Fires in the Peat Hydrological Unit (KHG) of Saleh River – Sugihan River on Peatland Subsidence using Sentinel-1A Satellite Imagery Data in 2019

 

2. Pina Ayu Wardani, Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau

Research title:

Peat Water Treatment Innovation Using Mangrove Litter as Raw Material for Activated Carbon for Purification of Peat Water in Batang Malas Village, Tebing Tinggi Barat Subdistrict, Meranti Islands District

 

3. Ahmad Ryan Nur Rahman, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University

Research title:

Automation of Peatland Irrigation Sluice Gates Using the Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Inference System
